When the burning is complete, remove the lid and heat the crucible potently for 1 or 2 minutes. 9. Allow the crucible to cool to room temperature with its lid still on. 10. Weigh the crucible with its lid and the content again. 11. Repeat the process of heating, cooling and weigh until a invariable kettle of fish is obtained.
